Cowal Building & Plumbing Supplies Ltd are delighted to offer you AICO alarms to help you comply with the new Scottish Fire Regulations.

These wireless alarms don’t require WiFi to work and they provide their own wireless signal that doesn’t interfere with any other device within your home.

We offer these alarms because we believe they offer a great product for great value. The alarms are self-install, just simply follow the instructions!

All homes in Scotland must have interlinked smoke & heat detectors.

What must homes have by 1st February 2022?

  • One smoke alarm in the living room or the room you use most.
  • One smoke alarm in every hallway or landing.
  • One heat alarm in the kitchen.
  • All alarms must have a long life tamperproof battery or mains powered. Any alarm that is powered by AA or 9V batteries aren’t compliant with the new legislation.

All smoke and heat alarms must be interlinked either by hardwire interconnected cable which must go to each alarm or Wireless radio but not WiFi. Any stand alone alarm that cannot be interlinked will not meet the new legislation.

Any Smoke alarms fitted must conform to: BS EN14604:2005

Any Heat Detectors fitted must conform to: BS 5446-2:2003

Any Carbon Monoxide Alarms fitted must conform to: British Kitemark EN 50291-1

If you have a gas boiler, heater or fire you must also have a carbon monoxide detector where these appliances are situated.

Order your interlinked smoke detectors online today. The alarms are also available in branch.
